Mud lines: where the water is clear

Clarity is not one number for a whole lake. One arm is stained from yesterday's rain while the main lake is clear, and the line between them is where bait and bass stack up.

Mud Line shows the water's clarity across the lake from satellite, and the forecast slider shows how it is expected to change over the next few days.

Turning on Mud Line + Forecast and reading the stained water against the clear — Cedar Creek Lake, Texas

How to use it

  1. Open the Maps tab and choose Mud Line + Forecast.
  2. The lake is shaded by clarity, from clear to stained.
  3. Drag the forecast slider to see the days ahead.
  4. Fish the edge — where stained water meets clear is where bait gathers.
